Notary services are required in many jurisdictions and states to certify that documents are official and have been verified by an independent legal source. These documents, once verified and signed, can be entered into court or probate as verified to have been legally signed by the parties contained therein. Travel documents are good to have with you whenever taking a child across state lines with custody agreements in place by the local court where the agreement was originally filed. Wills and Estate documents are valid with proper notarization to show that they are original and signed with witnesses.

Many documents only hold validity when properly notarized by an independent source. Proper identification is required to have ANY document notarized..

Whether you want a traditional (mentions God), nondenominational (no mention of God), hybrid (mentions a higher power of your choice), or a LGBTQIA (with or without denomination) service, a wedding celebrant (formerly known solely as a Justice of the Peace) is your best and legal way to go. Most churches require you to be a member of their denominational society in order to perform a ceremony within their facility, and some will not perform a ceremony outside of their facility at a location of your personal choice. Even more it seems do not want to perform services for those they consider "same-sex" or LGBTQ.

I believe that the potential wedded party should have the choice of where and whom officiates their wedding in order to make it a truly special event. I believe that those to be married deserve to have their wedding where they want it and to have it at a place that holds a personal meaning to them. I believe that NO ONE has a right to tell anyone else who and how to love. I also believe that the word of God belongs wherever the people being married want it (or don't) regardless of what type of couple they are. A normal wedding service will consist of a wedding script written and catered to the couple, a Zoom or in-person (if distance permits) rehearsal call, and my signature legitimizing the marriage license and me sealing the envelope and mailing it to the Court of Record. The wedding service is $200 and a non-refundable $50 fee that is due upon reserving services.
